Applecart deploys proprietary technology to run marketing campaigns that leverage positive customer word-of-mouth on behalf of brands. Applecart is building a game-changing, direct-to-consumer, two-sided marketplace that will empower and compensate customers who refer their personal networks to brands and products that they genuinely love. We give brands the ability to tap into a new scalable and cost-effective customer acquisition channel: peer-to-peer referrals via the networks of their current, satisfied customers. Our marketplace helps great brands efficiently grow beyond traditional marketing channels to generate a high volume of sales via genuine and positive word-of-mouth from existing customers.


About the Role 

As an Associate Product Manager, you will assist during the research and development of new data and consumer products. You will aid technical and product teams in triaging needs, gathering requirements and doing diligence ahead of development. Your work will help guide our priorities and plans for designing and building scalable products across multiple teams. At Applecart, we live and die on the speed and quality at which we deploy new solutions to hard data problems - your work will directly affect our clients in the form of election outcomes, political and non-profit issue advocacy and helping brands acquire new customers.


What you will do:

  • Collect business requirements and create lightweight wireframes for various data and consumer products and tools
  • Write concise, practical user stories for the engineers, data scientists and analysts working to develop key products
  • Gather and organize feedback from users, internal stakeholders, as well as quality assurance tests and translate into ideas for additional features or product improvements
  • Work with the VP of Product and other Product Managers to identify, track and review product metrics to measure success and identify areas for additional investment
  • Conduct market research to better understand product-market-fit and to keep leadership aware of competitive threats
  • Lead product roll-out efforts across the company by engaging with technology teams, internal users, and client-facing colleagues to build out collateral such as demos, documentation, FAQs, and knowledge shares
  • Serve as a product expert for internal stakeholders with questions, feedback or other needs



  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business/Economics or other STEM-related field
  • 1+ year of experience at a tech or early-stage company within product management, customer success or other relevant business or technical roles
  • Ability to communicate effectively and act as a liaison between business and technical teams
  • A data-driven approach to solving problems but a comfort with uncertainty when that data is missing
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Strong sense of ownership with a can-do attitude - always hungry to learn and improve
  • Basic understanding of statistics
  • Strong Proficiency in SQL, Excel and Powerpoint


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with data science and machine learning
  • Experience with programming languages (preferably Python or R)
  • Previous usage of user analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment or Flurry
  • Familiarity with data driven marketing concepts like conversion optimization, A/B testing, uplift modeling, etc.
  • Understanding of marketing technologies, especially advocacy, loyalty & referral platforms
  • Working experience with productivity tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Asana
